Mark Davies Joins TCR For 2013 Ginetta GT Supercup Bid

Mark is to be Sponsored by Cardowan Creameries Ltd

Current Ginetta G50 Cup champion Mark Davies has announced plans to run with Total Control Racing for 2013, as the three-time Ginetta champion joins the squad for a challenge on the Ginetta GT Supercup crown.

Having won the Ginetta Challenge in a G20 in 2009 and again in 2011 in the G40 car, Davies added another championship title to his CV in 2012 after graduating into the Ginetta G50 Cup, and with his prize of the use of a G55 Cup car for the 2013 season, he is looking to add a fourth title to that list.

Davies said; “Ever since the days when I raced in [Renault] Clio’s, TCR was always one of the top teams and it’s always been my ambition to drive for them. I’ve always been impressed by the way the team operates, it’s one of the best organised in the paddock and TCR’s cars are always fast without any shadow of a doubt.

“We had a great year last year, but I had to take this opportunity which has been made possible by my fantastic sponsor Cardowan Creameries. I want to go out and win the title and win as many races as I can but, like Carl [Breeze] showed last year, you have to be consistent. I’m really looking forward to the new season, I can’t wait to get out in the car and start working with all the guys at TCR.”

Davies was on the podium no less than 21 times out of the 24 Ginetta G50 Cup races he competed in, and with an impressive 14 G50 race wins, he comfortably secured the title during the penultimate race weekend at Silverstone, finishing over 100 points clear of his nearest rival.

Brands Hatch Indy Circuit in Kent will host the opening event of the 2013 Ginetta GT Supercup on Easter Weekend, 30th/31st March, with the season concluding back at Brands Hatch – albeit on the full Grand Prix Circuit – on 12th/13th October.
